The Citizens’ Cooperative
Bank is the "First Largest and foremost Urban Cooperative Bank
in the State" which was registered with the Registrar
Cooperative Societies J&K Jammu on 4th of March 1978 and was
issued license by the Reserve Bank of India to commence
banking business under section 22 of the Banking Regulation
Act 1949 on 4th August 1978. The bank with its registered
office and its first branch at Moti Bazar Jammu commenced
business on 3.10.1978. At the outset it had only 738 Share
holders with total Share capital of Rs.1.96 lacs including
Govt. shares of Rs.1.00 lac. The area of the operation at
the time of commencement of its business was confined to the
Municipal limits of Jammu City which has now been extended
to the whole of Jammu Province. |

The physical
organizational structure of the bank is as per following:- |

1. Administrative
Office |
|
The Bank has its
Administrative office situated at 117-A/D Gandhi Nagar Jammu
in a building on rent. Managing Director of the bank
operates his office at Administrative Office. The office
accommodates its Personnel/Estt section, Legal section,
Loan section, Membership section and Office of the Chief
Manager Recoveries, Inspection and Deposits. |

2. Central office
|
|
The Bank has its Central
office situated opposite of the office of Directorate
Statistical J&K Jammu at Main Road Janipur Jammu. Managing
Director of the Bank controls this office through Manager
Central Office Jammu. Head Office Compilation section,
Reconciliation section, Cash section are accommodated here
in a rental building. Apart from this, Office of Nodal
Officer Recoveries (Chief Manager) and Extension Counter of
the New Plots branch at Janipur is also situated in the same
premises. |
